We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Fiber Optic Laborer to support our Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) crews in the installation of underground fiber optic cable. This position plays a critical role in building and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate is physically capable, safety-focused, and willing to work outdoors in various conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist HDD crews with setup and operation of directional drilling equipment Support installation of fiber optic conduit and cable Load, unload, and transport materials and tools to job sites Perform hand digging, potholing, and job site preparation Maintain bore paths and assist with drilling fluid (mud) mixing and handling Help locate and expose underground utilities (daylighting) Restore job sites, including backfilling and cleanup Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures Work closely with drill operators, locators, and foremen
Qualifications:
Previous construction, utility, or telecommunications experience preferred HDD or underground utility experience is a plus, but not required Ability to lift 50-100 lbs and perform physically demanding work daily Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Valid driver's license required (CDL is a plus, if applicable) Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team Basic understanding of hand and power tools
Work Environment:
