Job Description

Overview The Landscape Construction Technician L2 is a developing-level role responsible for performing landscape construction tasks with increased independence and skill. This position installs hardscape and softscape elements, operates compact equipment, and supports the Crew Leader in completing projects efficiently and to company standards. The Technician contributes to team productivity, quality workmanship, and safe job site operations while continuing to build technical knowledge in landscape construction. Responsibilities Install hardscape features including patios, walkways, steps, and stone walls. Install softscape elements including trees, shrubs, and perennials. Assist the Construction Crew Leader and Assistant Crew Leader with project execution and meeting deadlines. Operate compact construction equipment such as skid steers and excavators in a safe and effective manner. Perform general labor tasks to support project completion. Follow project plans, layouts, and direction from supervisors. Perform daily cleaning, inspection, and basic maintenance of tools and equipment. Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment on job sites. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, clients, and vendors as needed. Demonstrate initiative and increasing independence in completing assigned tasks. Follow all company safety policies and properly use personal protective equipment. Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, or hazards. Work extended hours and occasional weekends during peak seasons as required. Perform work in a variety of weather conditions. Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. On-the-job training provided. OSHA or safety-related training preferred. Equipment operation training is a plus. 1-3 years of experience in landscape construction or related field preferred. Basic knowledge of hardscape installation including patios, walls, and walkways. Basic knowledge of planting techniques for trees, shrubs, and perennials. Experience operating compact construction equipment preferred. Ability to read and understand basic project plans and layouts. Familiarity with job site preparation and construction processes. Strong work ethic and reliability. Ability to follow direction while also demonstrating initiative. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Basic computer skills are a plus. Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain and maintain a medical certification if required. Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds on an individual basis. Ability to request assistance or use team lifting techniques when handling heavy or oversized materials. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
