Skilled Paving Laborer

Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Skilled Paving Laborer to join our construction team. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to prepare surfaces for paving. Assist with the installation of asphalt and concrete pavements, ensuring proper compaction and alignment. Support site preparation activities including excavation, grading, utility locating, and debris removal. Maintain safety protocols by inspecting equipment before use and adhering to all safety guidelines on-site. Collaborate with team members to complete paving tasks efficiently while maintaining quality standards. Assist with the setup and breakdown of construction zones, including traffic control measures when necessary. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment like Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal operation. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks. Knowledge of paving processes including asphalt laying, concrete pouring, and compaction techniques. Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and utility locating methods. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high productivity levels. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately. Prior experience working on construction sites with a focus on paving or infrastructure projects preferred. Valid certification or training in heavy equipment operation; familiarity with Caterpillar machinery is a plus.
