Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Equipment Operator/Laborer to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, performing utility work, and supporting various construction activities on-site. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities Operate construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes and skid steers to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks. Maintain and inspect equipment regularly to ensure optimal safety and performance, adhering to equipment safety procedures. Assist with construction utility work including utility locating, trenching, and installation of underground utilities. Follow federal construction safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all team members. Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and machinery and other construction machinery. Support construction site activities by performing general labor tasks such as site cleanup, material handling, and assisting skilled tradespeople. Operate commercial trucks for transporting equipment or materials around the job site or between locations as needed. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment. Knowledge of construction grading, excavation techniques, and utility installation processes. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation. Construction site experience with a focus on utility work, excavation, and general labor tasks. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness. Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
