This energetic role involves supporting various phases of construction projects, from groundwork to finishing touches, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards. As a Construction Laborer, you will work closely with skilled tradespeople and project managers to bring construction plans to life while maintaining a safe and productive work environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across multiple construction disciplines and contribute to diverse building projects. Responsibilities Assist with site preparation, including clearing, leveling, and setting up work zones in accordance with safety regulations. Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, pumps, and saws to perform tasks like concrete pouring, cutting, finishing, and masonry work. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and ensure accurate execution of tasks such as formwork construction, rebar installation, and framing. Support the installation of various building components including drywall, stucco, roofing, flooring, metal stud framing, and trim carpentry. Perform heavy lifting and material handling safely while adhering to construction workplace safety regulations. Assist in concrete-related tasks such as concrete forming, pouring, finishing, cutting, and concrete pumping. Follow safety protocols diligently during all phases of construction work to maintain a secure environment for everyone on site. Experience Prior experience working on construction projects or in a similar labor-intensive environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints is advantageous. Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and proper use of hand tools and power tools is essential. Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation or specialized skills such as masonry, plastering, restoration, or renovation work will set candidates apart. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and working at heights or in confined spaces is required. Strong understanding of construction plans and schematics ensures accurate execution of assigned duties. Previous experience in carpentry (including formwork construction), drywall installation, caulking, or flooring installation is beneficial for success in this role.
