Job Description

Job Summary The Distribution Water Laborer performs manual labor and assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution system. This position supports field operations to ensure safe, reliable water service to customers and compliance with state and federal regulations. Duties Assist with installation, repair, and replacement of water mains, service lines, valves, and hydrants Perform excavation and backfilling using hand tools and equipment Locate and expose underground utilities Assist with water line taps and service connections Flush hydrants and distribution lines Operate basic tools and small equipment (jackhammers, tampers, pumps, etc.) Maintain work sites in a safe and orderly condition Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment Respond to emergency water main breaks and service interruptions Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Assist certified operators as needed Experience High school diploma or GED preferred Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain) Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions Ability to lift 50-75 pounds regularly Basic mechanical skills preferred Experience in construction, utility work, or water systems preferred but not required
Pay:
$19.00 - $26.00 per hour
