Excavation Laborer / Operator

Position Overview Starzi Brothers is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator / Excavation Crew Member to join our team for upcoming projects throughout Chester and Delaware County. The ideal candidate is dependable, experienced in excavation and site work, and comfortable operating equipment while also assisting the crew when needed. This role requires someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates well with teammates, and helps keep jobs moving efficiently. Responsibilities Operate heavy construction equipment including excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other machinery Assist with excavation and site work operations including trenching, grading, and material movement Support crew members with digging, layout, and jobsite preparation Operate smaller equipment and tools such as compactors, jackhammers, and saws Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Report equipment issues or safety concerns to the crew lead or supervisor Assist with traffic control setup and jobsite safety practices Help maintain a clean and organized jobsite Assist with snow removal operations during winter months when applicable Perform additional tasks as needed to keep projects moving forward Requirements 3+ years experience in excavation, site work, or heavy civil construction Ability to operate excavators, skid steers, and other construction equipment safely Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong work ethic and ability to follow tasks through to completion Ability to work well with crew members and supervisors Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Physically capable of lifting materials and performing manual labor when required Physical Requirements This position regularly requires: Standing, walking, climbing, and working on uneven ground Bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting Using hands and arms to operate tools and equipment Lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally Work Environment Employees will frequently work outdoors and may be exposed to: Heavy machinery and moving equipment Loud construction environments Varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow Dust, vibration, and construction materials Safety procedures must always be followed on the jobsite.
