General Laborer / Construction Laborer Job Description This short-term General Laborer / Construction Laborer role supports a 68 week office renovation and facilities project. You will perform a variety of hands-on construction, demolition, moving, and facility-related tasks, working across multiple activities throughout the day to keep the project on schedule and the worksite safe and organized. Responsibilities Remove existing drywall and install new drywall with attention to quality and safety. Perform basic framing work to support walls and other structural elements. Remove cabinets, fixtures, and other office installations as part of the renovation. Prepare and paint walls and other surfaces to meet project specifications. Rip up and remove flooring and carpet in designated areas. Move furniture, equipment, materials, and other objects throughout the facility as needed. Load and unload materials and equipment from trucks safely and efficiently. Drive a non-CDL truck to transport materials, tools, and equipment between locations as required. Assist with demolition activities and ensure thorough cleanup of work areas. Collect, handle, and dispose of construction materials and debris in accordance with site procedures. Use basic hand and power tools to complete construction and renovation tasks. Support general labor and renovation work as assigned to ensure timely project completion. Essential Skills At least 1 year of construction or general labor experience, preferably in construction, remodeling, renovation, or a similar environment. Hands-on experience with framing and drywall hanging/installation. Practical experience with painting interior surfaces. Comfort using basic hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, and hand tools commonly used in construction. Non-CDL truck driving experience for transporting materials and equipment. Valid drivers license with a clean driving record. Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the shift. Ability to pass a drug screen and background check as a condition of engagement. Eligibility to work in an ITAR-regulated facility and ability to provide required identification and documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with general construction tasks such as carpentry, concrete work, and basic mechanical installation. Familiarity with demolition, cleanup, and post-construction cleaning activities. Ability to use a tape measure accurately and follow measurements for cutting and installation. Experience with general production or warehouse tasks such as loading, unloading, picking, packing, and material handling. Comfort working with both hand and power tools for a variety of installation and assembly tasks. Exposure to forklift operation, inventory handling, and packaging is beneficial. Capability for heavy lifting and sustained physical activity throughout the workday. Strong attention to safety, housekeeping, and maintaining an organized work area. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in Pennsylvania and supports an office renovation and facilities project. The first 46 weeks of work will be at one primary site, with the final 2 weeks involving work split between that site and a location in Reading, PA. You will work in an active construction and renovation environment that includes demolition areas, partially finished office spaces, and material staging zones. The work involves frequent lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods while using hand and power tools, handling drywall, flooring, paint, and other construction materials. You will also load and unload trucks and drive a non-CDL vehicle between locations as needed. Expect a practical, hands-on setting where adherence to safety procedures, proper use of tools and equipment, and appropriate work attire suitable for a construction environment are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Exton, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
