This energetic position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential remodels to commercial flooring solutions. As a Flooring Laborer, you will assist with the installation, finishing, and maintenance of various flooring materials, ensuring high-quality results that meet safety standards and client expectations. Responsibilities Assist with the installation of a wide range of flooring materials including hardwood, vinyl. Prepare work surfaces by measuring, cutting, and laying out materials according to technical drawings and construction plans. Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and install flooring components with precision. Handle building materials and equipment manually while adhering to proper lifting techniques for safety and efficiency. Support the application of floor refinishing techniques such as buffing, sanding, and water damage restoration. Follow building installation safety compliance protocols to ensure a secure working environment for all team members. Assist with other construction site tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, cabinet setup, and remodeling projects as needed. Requirements Prior construction experience or hands-on work in flooring installation or related trades is highly preferred. Knowledge of construction estimating and interpreting technical drawings is a plus. Familiarity with using hand tools, power tools, and building materials safely on job sites. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods. Experience with epoxy floor installation, tile laying, hardwood floor installation, vinyl floor installation, and floor refinishing is desirable. Strong understanding of building material installation safety standards and site safety protocols. Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to follow instructions from construction plans accurately. Additional skills such as carpentry, handyman experience, caulking, fixture installation, restoration work, or remodeling are advantageous.
