See full details in link below (for AFSCME employees) Full Benefits Summary (PDF) Position Summary This position performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance, repair, operational, and support duties to maintain the safety, functionality, and appearance of university buildings, equipment, and infrastructure while supporting skilled trades personnel with maintenance projects. Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance, repair, and operational support for campus buildings, furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and infrastructure.
Replace light bulbs, switches, fixtures, and other basic electrical components.
Maintain a safe, clean, and functional campus environment through preventive maintenance and repair activities.
Perform minor repairs to building systems, including basic electrical and plumbing components.
Assist skilled trades personnel with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, masonry, mechanical, renovation, construction, and maintenance projects.
Operate, maintain, and repair hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, and custodial machinery.
Conduct preventive maintenance and routine repairs on custodial equipment and machinery to ensure safe and effective operation.
Assist with inventory management of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
Drive university vehicles to transport personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies as required.
Maintain work records and communicate maintenance needs, issues, and repair requirements to supervisors.
Support campus special events, seasonal operations, and emergency response activities.
Work independently on routine assignments and under the direction of supervisors or skilled trades personnel on complex maintenance and repair projects.
Communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with faculty, staff, students, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
