Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Yard Laborer and become an essential part of our warehouse operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient movement, loading, and unloading of materials within the yard and warehouse environment. Your proactive approach and attention to safety will ensure smooth logistics operations, helping us meet customer demands and maintain a well-organized yard. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and warehouse management systems while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Duties Load and unload shipments using heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and cranes while adhering to OSHA safety standards. Operate RF scanners for accurate order picking, shipping, and receiving processes. Assist with order picking tasks, including pickers, to fulfill customer orders efficiently. Use pallet jacks and other mechanical tools to move materials safely around the yard and warehouse. Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing inventory, stacking pallets, and maintaining a clean work environment. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate shipping & receiving activities and ensure timely deliveries. Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment and materials handling tools to ensure mechanical safety and operational readiness. Qualifications Prior experience in warehouse distribution or construction environments is highly preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking procedures. Certification or experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, or load & unload machinery. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift. Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting basic equipment issues is a plus. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions from warehouse supervisors.
