Job Description

GENERAL JOB
DESCRIPTIONResponsible for assisting with the daily operations of street maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine street maintenance projects (patching, drainage repair, etc.). Assist with the chip and seal paving project. Assist with snow and ice removal. Assist with leaf removal project. Assist with tree trimming and removal. Assist with lake and dam maintenance. Perform basic landscaping duties i.e., weeding, planting flowers, shrubs, trees, etc. Mowing and weed eating FGCC facilities (Dog Park, Robinhood Park, boat ramps, etc. New landscaping projects (installing river rock, landscaping block, dirt work, boulders, etc. Proper use of chemicals (weed killer, fertilizer, etc.) Maintain street signs (install, paint, etc.). May operate equipment (trucks, mowers, tractor, etc.) Keep staging area, truck and equipment clean. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED 1 5 years previous experience with road construction, street maintenance and grounds keeping preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES
Valid TN Drivers License
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Walking and standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time (more with assistance)
