Part-Time Construction & Equipment Helper

BECS is looking for a dependable part-time/as-needed field helper for excavation, drainage, grading, and general construction work around the Maryville/Knoxville area. This is not a guaranteed 40-hour-per-week job. Some weeks may have no work. Other weeks may have one or more days available depending on the schedule. This is a good fit for someone who wants flexible hands-on work, construction experience, side income, or occasional field work around equipment. Excavation experience is helpful but not required. A construction, landscaping, farm, mechanic, equipment, trucking, military, or trade-school background can be a good fit. The main things we need are reliability, common sense, safety, and willingness to work outside.

What you may help with:

• Shoveling, digging, raking, and site cleanup
• Carrying pipe, stone, tools, and materials
• Helping set up and clean up jobsites
• Assisting around skid steers, mini excavators, trucks, and trailers
• Checking grade, laying pipe, backfilling, and general excavation support
• Keeping tools and equipment organized
• Following directions and working safely around customers' property Good fit if you:

• Are comfortable doing physical outdoor work in heat, cold, mud, and uneven ground
• Have reliable transportation to local jobsites
• Are 18 or older
• Have a safety-first attitude around equipment and trenches
• Are willing to labor; operating equipment is a bonus, not the main job Helpful but not required:
• Construction, landscaping, concrete, farm, mechanic, equipment, or military experience
• Skid steer, mini excavator, tractor, trailer, or small engine/mechanic experience
• Ability to read a tape measure, use basic hand tools, or work from simple directions
• Valid driver's license and clean driving habits

Pay:

Pay depends on experience, reliability, and what type of work you can safely help with. General helper pay starts lower; stronger construction, equipment, or mechanic experience may pay more. We will discuss pay before any work is scheduled.

This is an as-needed position. We are building a small list of dependable people we can call when jobs need extra hands. Reliable people will be called first.
