Flatland Civil Construction is looking to hire a Heavy Civil Laborer to join our growing construction company. We are a civil construction company focused on sitework, earthwork, utilities, grading, excavation, concrete support work, and general civil construction. We are looking for someone who is dependable, willing to work hard, and not afraid to get on the ground and help where needed. This position will include working around trenches, utilities, equipment, grading crews, concrete work, and general sitework operations. The right person will also have the opportunity to learn the basics of equipment operation and grow with the company. Responsibilities Assist with general civil construction and sitework tasks Work on the ground around trenches, utilities, grading, and excavation work Help with pipe, utility, drainage, erosion control, and concrete-related work Shovel, rake, compact, spot equipment, and assist operators as needed Help with forming, prep work, demo, cleanup, and general concrete support when needed Help keep the jobsite clean, organized, and safe Load and unload materials, tools, and supplies Follow direction from the foreman and equipment operators Learn basic equipment operation over time when the opportunity is available Requirements Must be dependable and show up on time Must be willing to work outside in Texas weather Must be comfortable working around equipment and trenches Must be willing to do physical labor Must have a good attitude and willingness to learn Prior construction experience is preferred but not required Civil, utility, excavation, grading, trench work, or concrete experience is a plus Must have reliable transportation What We're Looking For We are not just looking for someone to fill a spot. We are looking for someone who wants to learn the civil construction trade, work hard, and grow with the company. If you have a good attitude, are willing to listen, and are not scared of hard work, we can teach the rest. Concrete experience is a bonus, especially experience with forming, pouring, finishing, demo, flatwork, or working around concrete crews. Schedule Full-time Monday through Friday Some overtime and weekends may be required depending on the project schedule Work Location Flatland Civil Construction is based out of Abilene, Texas , but this position will have some travel depending on the jobs.

Pay:

$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
