Under the general supervision of the Superintendent or Lead Equipment Operator, operates a variety of heavy and light equipment in the construction and maintenance repairs of City utility installations. Operates heavy construction equipment such as front-end loader, motor grader, backhoe, trackhoe, compactor, graders or heavy trenching machines and other types of machinery to excavate, move and grade earth. •MUST have experience and be skilled with a Motor Grader.Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Individual must possess a valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. High School Diploma/GED preferredExperience:
8 + years of heavy equipment operationMajor Responsibilities and Duties:
Operate construction equipment such as: bulldozer, loader, motor grader, backhoe, trackhoe, compactor, pneumatic roller, and water trucks. Fasten attachments to equipment with clevis or wedge pin hitches. Connect hydraulic hoses, belts, mechanical linkage, or power takeoff shaft to equipment to provide power to raise, lower, or tilt attachment. Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on all equipment. Drives construction equipment over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade following markings on grade stakes or hand signals. Follow all safety protocols and promote a safe work environment. Exercise good judgment when making decisions, with little supervisionSupervisory Responsibilities:
