TEMP - Laborer City of Garland - 3.2 Garland, TX Job Details Part-time $17 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Non-CDL Class C Full Job Description Summary Responsible for semi-skilled grounds construction and maintenance work and performs related tasks as required.
Pay Rate:
$17.00 Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operates powered equipment in mowing golf course(s), putting greens, aprons, tees, and rough. Operates edgers and trimmers. Trims trees, prunes shrubbery, and cultivates shrubs and flowers. Grades and prepares a soil plant bed, lays sod, plants, vegetative material, and pulls weeds. Assists in construction of new greens, tees, and fairways by grading, preparing soil and planting. Changes cups and tee markers. Maintains ball washers, water hazards, and bunkers. Operates light equipment in hauling materials and removing debris. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) No previous experience required Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications Education/ Experience:
6 months to 1 year experience in golf course landscape maintenance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of City Safety Procedures Knowledge of safety methods and procedures in equipment operation Knowledge of or experience with grounds maintenance equipment Skill in operating smaller golf course equipment such as greens mowers, tee mowers, sand trap rakes Ability to work in a team environment Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Ability to prioritize and work in an organized manner Ability to work independently of the supervisor Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary Licenses and Certifications Valid Class C Texas driver's license Physical Requirements / Work Environment The incumbent works with frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk. May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold, rain, humidity, wetness, insects, noxious odors, fumes, and physical stress from exertion and lifting. Exposed to physical exertion such as bending, lifting, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
