Job Description

Job Overview Join our team as a Street and Sewer Laborer, where you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving our community infrastructure. This position involves performing a variety of manual tasks related to street, sewer, and utility maintenance, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. You will work with heavy equipment, hand tools, and power tools to support construction, repair, and installation projects. This is a nonsupervisory position and will be offered as a part-time or full-time position. Duties Use hand tools and power tools for repairs, installations, and routine maintenance of sewer lines and street surfaces. Perform utility locating and cable detection to identify underground utilities before excavation or construction work begins. Hand shovel dirt, gravel, or asphalt. Load and unload materials and equipment. Trim Trees, pick up brush, and load brush onto a truck. Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation equipment to assist in excavation, trenching, and construction activities. Assist with rigging operations to safely lift and position heavy materials or equipment on construction sites. Maintain mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing basic repairs. Climb ladders or structures as needed for inspections or repairs on utility poles or street fixtures. Support safety protocols by adhering to high voltage and low voltage electrical standards during work activities. Perform utility trenching or pipe laying. Perform other such duties as may be assigned. Skills Good knowledge of the safe operation of any equipment used and of safety standards; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other employees and the general public.
Pay:
$12.00 - $14.00 per hour
