Job Description

Proyecto Azteca is seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Technician to assist with the construction, rehabilitation, repair, and maintenance of affordable housing projects. The Construction Technician will work under the supervision of the Director of Construction and assist with all phases of residential construction, including site preparation, framing, roofing, siding, painting, drywall, flooring, punch-list completion, and general repairs. The position may also assist with facility maintenance, material handling, tool organization, and project cleanup activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, be willing to learn, work safely, follow instructions, and demonstrate professionalism when interacting with homeowners, volunteers, contractors, and community partners. Essential Duties Perform residential construction and rehabilitation activities Assist with home repair and reconstruction projects Operate hand and power tools safely Assist with site preparation and cleanup Load, unload, and organize construction materials Assist with project punch-list items and final project completion Maintain a safe and organized work environment Follow all safety policies and procedures Assist volunteers and participating families as needed Perform facility maintenance and repair work when assigned Complete other duties as assigned by the Construction Director Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience in residential construction, maintenance, or related field preferred Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments Valid Texas driver's license preferred Ability to lift 50 pounds or more Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and carrying Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to safely use ladders, tools, and construction equipment
