Get ready to unearth your true potential and dig into the exciting world of HEI Civil! We are seeking a motivated Construction Laborer to join our team in Waco, TX . This position supports a variety of heavy civil construction projects by assisting field crews with site preparation, material handling, and general construction activities. Responsibilities Assist with site preparation and cleanup to help maintain an organized work environment. Perform excavation support tasks, including digging trenches, pits, and foundations as directed. Load, unload, move, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment. Remove debris and excess materials from work areas. Assist equipment operators and skilled trades as needed to support daily project activities. Operate hand tools and small equipment in accordance with project requirements. Participate in daily crew meetings and follow direction from supervisors and project leadership. Perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 70 pounds. Work collaboratively with team members to help meet project schedules and production goals. Follow company procedures and established job site practices. Perform additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic understanding of construction methods, tools, and equipment. Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 70 pounds. Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while following supervisor direction. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous construction, landscaping, utility, or general labor experience is preferred but not required. Experience in heavy civil construction is a plus.
