We are a veteran owned company with a 20+ year track record of excellent service and results, located in Salem, VA. In this role, you will support skilled tradespeople by performing a variety of physical tasks on construction sites. Your hands-on work will involve assisting with concrete work, masonry, and more, ensuring projects progress smoothly and safely. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in construction while contributing to high-quality building outcomes. All positions are paid, recognizing the importance of every team member's contribution. Duties Assist with heavy lifting and material handling to support construction activities Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently to perform tasks like cutting, drilling, and assembling materials Support rebar installation, concrete pouring, forming, and finishing to ensure structural integrity and quality standards are met Conduct demolition, renovation work, restoration efforts, or site cleanup as needed to prepare for ongoing construction activities Support heavy equipment operation under supervision for tasks like concrete pumping or material transportation on-site Follow safety protocols diligently while working with scaffolding, ladders, caulking guns, tile laying tools, or other specialized equipment Qualifications Prior experience working on construction sites or in related roles is highly preferred Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with construction estimating are advantageous for understanding project scope and materials management Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout the day Experience with concrete mixer operation, formwork installation, rebar placement, and masonry techniques is a plus Competency in using hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment effectively and responsibly Valid driver's license for commercial driving or site access is desirable but not mandatory Strong teamwork attitude with excellent communication skills to coordinate with tradespeople and supervisors Embark on a rewarding career where your efforts directly contribute to building durable structures!
