Job Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Laborer and be a vital part of transforming homes! In this energetic role, you will support skilled tradespeople by performing essential tasks that keep projects moving forward. Your hands-on involvement will range from heavy lifting and site preparation to assisting with complex construction activities. Duties Job Site Preparation and Cleanup Site Prep:
Prepare work areas by setting up scaffolding, bracing, and temporary structures.
Material Handling and Logistics Unloading/Loading:
Receive, unload, and organize building materials (lumber, drywall, siding, fixtures).
Material Transport:
Move materials from storage areas to the immediate work area, often carrying 50-80 lbs.
Site Protection:
Protect customer property (furniture, existing flooring) during remodeling with drop cloths, plastic sheeting, and floor protection.
Construction and Trade Assistance General Framing & Structural:
Assist in framing, siding, window/door installation, and decking for new builds and additions.
Trade Support:
Provide support to plumbers, electricians, and HVAC contractors (e.g., digging trenches for utility lines, pulling wire).
Finish Work Assistance:
Assist with trim, flooring installation, painting, and cabinetry setup.
Tool and Equipment Operation Power/Hand Tools:
Safely operate power tools (saws, drills, jackhammers, nail guns).
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on tools and machinery.
Safety and Compliance Safety Adherence:
Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company policies, including using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Hazard Mitigation:
Identify, report, and correct safety hazards on site (e.g., covering floor holes, removing protruding nails).
Required Qualifications & Skills Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand, bend, and lift heavy materials (up to 50-100 lbs) for long periods in various weather conditions.
Reliability:
Strong work ethic with consistent punctuality. Willingness to
Learn:
Eagerness to gain skills in framing, and finish carpentry.
Transportation:
Valid driver's license and reliable transport to various, changing job sites.
Communication:
Ability to take direction from foremen and interact professionally with homeowners.
Demolition & Removal:
Perform selective demolition for remodeling projects (removing drywall, flooring, cabinets).
Daily Cleanup:
Remove debris, hazardous materials, and trash from the job site regularly to ensure safety, particularly in residential areas. Experience Minimum of 2 years construction related experience recommended. Prior experience working on construction sites or in renovation projects is highly desirable. Prior experience remodeling kitchens and bathrooms. Must be able to work independently. Familiarity with hand tools & power tools is recommended. Ability to properly read and understand a tape measure. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery or equipment. Valid driver's license. Strong work ethic with a focus on reliability and punctuality.
