Job Description
Summary/Objective:
Midwest Construction Group is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Construction Technician to support daily operations across multiple commercial construction job sites. This hands-on role is essential to maintaining clean, organized, safe, and efficient project environments. The ideal candidate has general construction knowledge, strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting field crews, subcontractors, and project teams. This position includes material handling, site logistics, cleanup, punch-list assistance, and general labor responsibilities.Essential Functions:

Pick up, transport, and deliver construction materials, tools, and supplies to active job sites Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments throughout all phases of construction Assist field personnel and subcontractors with general labor and site support tasks Perform basic construction and maintenance work including painting, drywall repair, carpentry, touch-ups, and accessory installation Support project teams with material staging, site preparation, and inventory organization Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively Perform detailed site cleanup including debris removal, sweeping, vacuuming, dust control, and waste disposal Complete final cleaning and punch-list preparation prior to project turnover Monitor inventory levels of job site materials and supplies Observe job site safety requirements and help maintain OSHA-compliant work practices Communicate effectively with project managers, field staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers Represent the company professionally at all times on job sites and during deliveriesQualifications:
Basic understanding of construction means, methods, and job site safety Valid driver's license with clean driving record Ability to safely lift, carry, and move heavy materials regularly Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently Ability to complete minor punch-list and touch-up work with minimal supervision Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to support team success Work Environment & Physical Requirements This position involves frequent physical activity including standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials throughout the workday. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Travel to project site is required approximately 90% of the time. Preferred Education and Experience 3-5+ years of experience in commercial construction or general trades Experience working on active commercial construction job sites Familiarity with architectural, MEP, and furniture installation drawings Working knowledge of construction terminology, materials, methods, and safety standards Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to work varying shifts or extended hours when project schedules require. Must have a valid driver's license, with no more than two moving violations or a record of a DUI within the past 7 years.
