Job Description
Overview The Groundman plays a crucial role in supporting various utility and construction operations. This position involves working closely with a team to ensure the safe and efficient execution of tasks on sites. The Groundman will assist in various activities, including equipment operation, utility locating, and cabling tasks, while adhering to safety protocols and regulations. Duties Operate equipment vehicles to assist in site preparation and material movement. Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation. Assist in splicing and cabling tasks to ensure proper connectivity. Engage in digging activities to prepare trenches for installation or repairs. Support bucket operations for overhead work, ensuring safety and efficiency. Collaborate with team members on site duties, maintaining clear communication at all times. Conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working and organized condition. Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Skills Ability to understand low voltage systems and utility locating techniques. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively on-site. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining organized materials as well as adhering to safety standards. This role is essential for the successful completion of projects within the utility sector, providing an opportunity for individuals looking to grow their skills in a dynamic work environment.
