General Construction Superintendent

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee large-scale construction projects from start to finish. This pivotal role involves managing on-site operations, coordinating teams, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, exceptional leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and project scheduling tools. Responsibilities Lead and supervise all construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth workflow and timely completion of projects. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software; monitor progress regularly. Oversee quality control procedures to ensure work meets industry standards, schematics, blueprints reading requirements, and client expectations. Manage project budgets by tracking costs, reviewing contracts, and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Enforce OSHA safety standards and conduct regular safety meetings; ensure all team members are trained on safety protocols. Utilize construction estimating tools such as HeavyBid for accurate cost forecasting; review contracts thoroughly before execution. Supervise subcontractors and onsite personnel; provide guidance on construction site experience, blueprint interpretation, and technical issues such as schematics or ohmmeter readings. Maintain comprehensive documentation including daily reports, incident logs, inspection records, and project schedules to ensure transparency and accountability. Qualifications Proven management experience in heavy civil or commercial construction projects with supervising teams of diverse trades Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for construction site safety compliance. Demonstrated ability in project scheduling, budgeting, blueprint reading, construction estimating, and quality control processes. Hands-on experience with pipeline projects or large-scale infrastructure developments is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical drawings effectively. Valid management certification or relevant industry training preferred; familiarity with contracts management essential.
