Summary:
The Site Manager is a member of the Field Operations team, leading safe and efficient operations at a customer site. This role ensures high service standards through strong people leadership, including training, hiring, mentoring, and enforcing safety and accountability, while building customer relationships and aligning logistics activities with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate is a results-driven, people-focused leader who can translate operational goals into execution, develop high-performing teams, and consistently deliver strong safety, service, and customer outcomes.
Job Description:
Operational Excellence Provide feedback to the Regional Manager and Regional Director. Monitor performance metrics, develop process improvements, and resolve issues that impact service levels. Ensure equipment is in good working conditions and coordinate repairs with vendors. People Development Ensure employees are held accountable for their safety standards and resolve maintenance issues. Train and manage drivers and site-level staff. Lead recruitment, hiring, team building, and mentoring of drivers and site-level staff. Customer & Vendor Relations Attend customer meetings and build relationships with that customer. Coordinate logistics activities with internal/external customers. Ensure that all employees provide the highest level of service. Team Leadership Be a leader by example and live our overall purpose and core values. Foster communication, collaboration, diversity, inclusion, innovation and a productive team environment. Promote a business partner and ownership mindset to the team to prioritize customer service excellence, adoption and resilience to change and continuous improvement. Maintain up to date awareness of industry regulations and market trends to ensure compliance requirements and competitive presence/advantage. Other tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Related field with 1+ year's previous business experience, ideally in supply chain, transportation, or related field with 1-2 years supervisory experience with increasing levels of responsibility. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, E-Plan and Geotab). Must have leadership skills to include recruiting, hiring, team building, coaching and mentoring skills while training new drivers & retraining veteran drivers. Understanding and prevention of critical safety issues. Willingness to devote hours necessary to complete task at hand. Experience using or willingness to learn approved AI/LLM and automation tools is a plus. Must be flexible and adaptable to the ever-changing market and Lazer Logistics objectives and goals. Solutions oriented with intuitive critical thinking and leadership skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong ethical and integrity code. • Ability to collaborate and work well in a fast-paced/dynamic team environment. Commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion with team and vendors.
