Job Description

Job Title:
Assistant Superintendent Job Description We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to support our Field Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day field activities across multiple commercial construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring waterproofing and building envelope systems are installed correctly, efficiently, and in alignment with project schedules and quality standards. Responsibilities Assist in managing daily field operations across multiple job sites. Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and details. Coordinate with General Contractors, superintendents, and project teams. Support crew scheduling and manpower allocation across projects. Monitor job progress and adjust crews to meet deadlines and priorities. Ensure proper installation of waterproofing systems and details. Identify and communicate scope gaps, conflicts, or inefficiencies. Train and develop field staff on installation techniques and leadership. Enforce safety standards and quality control procedures. Assist in tracking productivity, materials, and job performance. Essential Skills Good work ethic and effective communication skills. Experience working and communicating with General Contractors. OSHA 30 certification is required. Ability to supervise and interpret construction drawings. Knowledge of waterproofing and building envelope systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications 3-8 years of commercial construction experience. Experience as an Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, or similar role. Exposure to waterproofing, building envelope, concrete, masonry, or exterior wall systems. Strong ability to read and understand blueprints and details. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously. Effective communicator with both General Contractors and field crews. Ability to think critically and prioritize real needs. Natural leadership ability and presence in the field. Willingness to learn and master waterproofing systems and sequencing. Work Environment The work environment consists of 80% fieldwork on-site and 20% office work performing job-related computer tasks. The role offers the opportunity for advancement within the company, with the potential to move into Superintendent and Project Manager positions. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montgomery, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $43.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
