Job Description

Lock & Dam Superintendent Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Lock & Dam Superintendent to oversee heavy civil construction projects involving locks, dams, waterways, and related infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for managing field operations, coordinating crews and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring safe, high-quality execution of work. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication skills, experience managing complex construction activities, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced project environments. Responsibilities Oversee daily field operations for lock and dam construction projects. Coordinate labor crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials. Maintain project schedules and ensure work progresses safely and efficiently. Enforce safety standards, quality control, and project compliance requirements. Communicate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients. Track progress, identify issues, and implement solutions in the field. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Lead by example and maintain a strong team-oriented work environment. Qualifications Experience in heavy civil, marine, lock & dam, bridge, or related infrastructure construction. USACE experience is required Strong leadership and field management experience. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. OSHA certification preferred. Willingness to travel or work extended hours as project needs require.
