Job Summary The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for managing strategic client relationships and overseeing project opportunities from initial identification through award or closeout. Operating under the seller/doer model, this role serves as the primary point of contact for clients within their assigned region and industry sectors. The Preconstruction Manager will collaborate closely with estimating, operations, business development, and marketing teams to deliver client-focused proposals and achieve regional and corporate sales goals. This position requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills to ensure that client needs are met through proactive engagement and seamless coordination throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Job Responsibilities Serve as the lead client contact for assigned preconstruction and project opportunities. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, general contractors, engineers, and industry partners. Identify project opportunities through research, networking, and collaboration with business development and marketing teams. Own and manage the opportunity lifecycle from project identification through bid, award, and closeout using Salesforce CRM. Responsible for developing and implementing win strategies and Go-No-Go process to determine which projects and clients to target. Lead the RFP/RFQ process and deliver to the client while meeting company standards and processes. Coordinate with estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to develop comprehensive proposals and ensure accurate project pricing. Gain a solid understanding of the services to be sold and represent that well to the client, bringing in subject matter experts when appropriate. Lead preconstruction efforts including scope alignment, risk identification, value engineering, and constructability input. Participate in pre-bid meetings, client presentations, and interviews to support pursuit strategies. Work with the Regional Sales Director to execute regional business plans and achieve annual sales targets. Monitor client satisfaction and provide feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement. Maintain accurate and timely records of opportunities, client interactions, and project outcomes in Salesforce. Represent Loenbro at regional trade shows, association events, and client meetings to strengthen industry presence. Uphold Loenbro's safety culture and actively support company initiatives and values.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
8+ years of experience in industrial or commercial construction, project management, or business development. Proven ability to manage client relationships and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes. Knowledge of estimating, bid development, and preconstruction processes. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decisions and build trust. Highly organized, self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel within the assigned region to meet with clients and internal teams.Preferred:
Experience using Salesforce CRM and familiarity with Industrial Info Resources (IIR) preferred. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
