Reconstruction Project Coordinator (Path to Project Manager) Whitestone Industries | Bakersfield, CA (In Office)
Pay:
$25-$28 per hour Performance-based increases About Whitestone Industries Whitestone Industries is a commercial reconstruction firm specializing in: SB 326 structural compliance Exterior building envelope restoration Waterproofing and deck coating systems Roofing systems and large-scale renovations We partner with HOAs, multifamily communities, hotels, and commercial property managers across California on complex, high-value projects. This is a growth-focused company with direct access to leadership and real opportunity to advance. The Role - This is not an admin position. This role is built for someone who wants to become a Project Manager and is ready to take ownership of preconstruction, scope development and project setup. You will work directly with leadership, estimating, and operations to ensure projects are accurate, complete and ready for execution. You will be expected to think ahead, identify problems before they happen, and operate with urgency. What You'll Be Doing Review architectural and engineering plans Break down scopes across trades including carpentry, painting, waterproofing, coatings and roofing Identify scope gaps, conflicts and missed items before bidding Manage RFIs, RFPs and subcontractor coordination Solicit, compare and level subcontractor pricing Track bid deadlines and ensure complete submissions Maintain organized documentation in Buildertrend and Google Drive Assist with project setup, purchasing and material coordination Support permitting and plan submissions when required Follow up consistently on bids, proposals, and internal tasks Who This Is For This role is ideal for someone who: Has worked for a general contractor, subcontractor or reconstruction company Has real experience reviewing plans and building scopes (not just tracking projects) Has coordinated multiple trades, not just one scope Wants to grow into a Project Manager role within 12-24 months Takes ownership, follows through and does not need to be managed Strong fits often come from: Junior Project Managers Project Engineers or Coordinators ready for more responsibility Estimators who want to move into operations Field leaders transitioning into an office role Requirements 3+ years in commercial construction or project coordination Ability to read and understand construction plans Strong organization and time management Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously Clear and professional communication Experience with Buildertrend or similar software preferred Proficient in Google Workspace Valid driver's license Expectations This is a high-performance role.
