work including Emergency Rooms, Operating Rooms, imaging, and other highly regulated clinical spaces. The ideal candidate has direct experience managing construction inside occupied healthcare facilities and understands the precision, documentation, infection control, inspections, and coordination required when working around patients, hospital staff, medical equipment, and ongoing operations. This role will serve as the primary field leader, working closely with Project Managers, hospital facilities teams, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and trade partners to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance withHCAI/OSHPD
requirements. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day field operations onHCAI/OSHPD
healthcare construction projects Manage work in active hospitals, including Emergency Rooms, Operating Rooms, imaging suites, procedure rooms, and clinical spaces Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, deliveries, shutdowns, and hospital access requirements Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and short-term look-ahead schedules Coordinate phased construction, temporary conditions, infection control, and interim life safety requirements Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, submittals, and approved HCAI documentation Coordinate closely with hospital facilities teams, inspectors, architects, engineers, and Project Managers Manage MEP coordination including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, controls, medical gas, and specialty healthcare systems Coordinate utility shutdowns, tie-ins, testing, inspections, and commissioning activities Conduct daily site walks and monitor workmanship, safety, quality, and project progress Lead subcontractor and foremen coordination meetings Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, inspection records, photos, and field documentation Identify constructability, sequencing, or compliance issues before they impact schedule or hospital operations Enforce OSHA, company safety, and project-specific healthcare safety requirements Manage punch lists, inspections, turnover, closeout, and final completion Maintain professional communication with hospital ownership and project stakeholders throughout construction Qualifications 5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction DirectHCAI/OSHPD
healthcare construction experience required Experience with Emergency Room and/or Operating Room construction strongly preferred Experience working inside occupied hospitals and active patient-care environments Strong understanding ofHCAI/OSHPD
inspections, documentation, and compliance requirements Experience with healthcare renovations, phased construction, and complex tenant improvement work Familiarity with ICRA, ILSM, infection control, shutdown planning, and hospital logistics Strong understanding of MEP coordination and healthcare building systems Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineered drawings Strong scheduling, sequencing, and subcontractor management skills Experience coordinating inspectors, hospital representatives, design teams, and regulatory stakeholders Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar construction software preferred OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR certifications preferred Preferred Project Experience Emergency Rooms (ER) Operating Rooms (OR) Imaging / MRI / CT suites Surgery and procedure rooms Hospital renovations Patient-care spaces Medical gas and critical MEP systems Active hospital constructionHCAI/OSHPD
