The Structural Superintendent provides senior field leadership for large-scale heavy civil infrastructure projects valued at $200M or greater, including bridges, highways, and rail systems. The ideal candidate possesses over a decade of specialized superintendent experience, managing complex onsite logistics, craft labor, and subcontractors to ensure project delivery within safety, quality, and schedule parameters.

Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise daily onsite field construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, budget, and schedule. Coordinate subcontractors, craft labor, equipment, materials, and site logistics to maintain efficient project execution. Interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents to provide field leadership and recommend appropriate construction methods. Collaborate with project management to develop and maintain project schedules, site logistics plans, and construction standards. Monitor productivity and ensure efficient use of labor and materials while maintaining accountability for project timelines. Identify and mitigate field conditions or potential construction issues that could impact cost, quality, or safety. Enforce the Site-Specific Safety Plan and ensure all personnel comply with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements. Maintain accurate field documentation and communicate progress, challenges, and upcoming activities to project leadership and owner representatives. Coordinate activities across multiple trades and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of structural work. Utilize construction management software including Procore, Bluebeam, and HCSS for field reporting and documentation.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 15 years of construction experience with at least 10 years in a Superintendent role for heavy civil projects. Proven track record of delivering heavy civil infrastructure projects valued at $200M or greater. Extensive experience with the construction of bridges, highways, transit systems, rail, or major concrete structures. Deep knowledge of U.S. construction methods, techniques, standards, and field practices for structural work. Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, logistics, and site operations. Familiarity with managing large subcontractor workforces and working within union or craft labor environments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), Procore, Bluebeam, and HCSS HeavyBid software. Ability to work effectively with city, state, or federal government clients and stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder management and field reporting.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in an outdoor construction work environment with exposure to various weather conditions. May be exposed to heights, loud noises, and industrial equipment common to heavy civil sites. Ability to occasionally climb stairs, ladders, or navigate uneven terrain on a jobsite. Required to stand, sit, walk, and use hands/fingers to operate field technology and equipment. Occasional stooping, kneeling, bending, and light to moderate lifting may be required.
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $225,000 to $275,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
