About Peninsula Bridge :
Peninsula Bridge is a non-profit organization that transforms the lives of highly motivated, low-income students by preparing and supporting them for success in college preparatory high school programs and four year colleges through out-of-school social-emotional and academic learning programs.
Role and Responsibilities:
Each site program meets two times per week throughout the academic year (September-May) during after school hours. The Assistant Site Coordinator (ASC) will have an on-site administrative and support role for the After-school Academy. The ASC will support the Program Manager with set-up, attendance, parent phone calls, data entry, and other administrative tasks as assigned. They will provide direct support and supervision to students throughout the duration of the program by supervising break times, assisting in classrooms as needed. ASCs play a key role in establishing and promoting positive site culture by building rapport with students, using proactive strategies and supporting problem solving as needed. The ASC is part of a site-based team with approximately five teachers, and a Site Coordinator. The ASC reports to the Director of Elementary and Middle School Programs. In addition to the program hours, there will be one-hour, monthly team debrief meetings throughout the semester and parent meetings as needed.
Qualities and Skills :
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in English and Spanish
  • Successful experience working with elementary or middle school students in a school or other youth-serving environment
  • Strong understanding of youth development
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain a positive site culture and sense of belonging through daily rapport building, maintaining clear expectations, active supervision, and modeling sitewide routines and rituals
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including colleagues, families, volunteers, and visitors
  • Ability to support students and families in a warm, engaging way
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural humility
  • Creative, adaptable, and able to manage multiple objectives at one time
  • Effective organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate computers including word processing, emails, spreadsheets, database and specialized software applications, in a networked environment

Google Chromebooks Salary :
This is a position based on hourly pay. Compensation is $35/hr. Assistant Site Coordinators are eligible to work part-time at 1-2 different school sites, if available Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs, or Sat, up to a maximum of 19 hours per week.
