Full-time/ Contract Position Summary The Construction Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing on‑site construction activities to ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with project specifications. This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding of industrial construction environments, and the ability to coordinate multiple contractors, stakeholders, and workstreams. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site representative, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, communication, and execution. Key Responsibilities Construction Oversight & Coordination Supervise daily on-site construction activities and ensure full compliance with safety regulations and site protocols. Manage construction crews and coordinate all subcontractor activities to ensure efficient workflow. Monitor project progress, identify issues early, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and budget integrity. Resolve construction-related disputes and address customer or stakeholder concerns promptly. Ensure workmanship meets project specifications, quality standards, and engineering requirements. Turnaround & Industrial Safety Management Understand and enforce safety practices specific to turnaround environments. Recognize and mitigate hazards, ensuring safe execution of all construction activities. Manage critical lifts and ensure all required Safe Work Permit (SWP) and lift documentation is completed. Technical & Administrative Duties Review, read, and interpret P&IDs, drawings, and other technical documents. Support preparation and review of bid documents and job packages. Serve as the single point of contact for contractors on-site. Conduct and manage contractor Toolbox Meetings to ensure communication of daily priorities and safety topics. Approve contractor time sheets and verify accuracy of submitted hours. Use and interpret P6 schedules to establish priorities, manage sequencing, and validate progress. Travel & Credential Requirements Must have or be able to obtain a passport, for travel to Corunna St. Clair, Canada (turnaround location). Must be capable of obtaining a TWIC card for access to regulated industrial facilities. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Previous experience in construction supervision or project management within an industrial environment. Strong knowledge of construction methods, industrial safety practices, and field execution. Minimum understanding of process welding, quality control, and associated documentation. Excellent leadership capabilities and strong verbal/written communication skills. Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and execute assignments independently. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience). Experience managing turnaround work scopes in refining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial settings. Proficiency with P6 , job package development, and bid document preparation.
