Full Job Description Construction Project Manager Title:
Construction Project Manager Supports and Reports to: Supervisor Established Bay Area general contracting company that has been in business for 80 years seeks a Construction Project Manager. We are a full-service, locally owned general contractor. Our company has a deep understanding of the Bay Area market with long-term relationships with local contractors and suppliers. We have high client retention and repeat business because of our reputation for keeping projects on time and on budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Experienced Construction Project Manager with construction project experience supporting project teams through all phases of construction, from preconstruction through closeout. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, maintain project documentation, and monitor budgets and schedules. The Construction Project Manager assists with the day-to-day coordination and administration of construction projects. Must be organized, responsive, and effective in communicating with all members of the team.
- Review project proposals, contracts, and requirements.
- Lead project execution to ensure schedules, budgets, quality standards, and system performance objectives are met.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, consultants, utility providers, agencies, and field staff throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with client and subcontractor contract negotiations and prepare subcontract agreements.
- Develop and coordinate project schedules, ensuring alignment with material procurement and delivery timelines.
- Participate in constructability reviews to identify efficient, cost-effective construction methods.
- Resolve project issues, manage changes, and mitigate cost and schedule impacts.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with clients regarding project status, risks, and progress.
- Help manage construction finances, including subcontractor invoices, client billing, change orders, and cost controls.
- Work with site supervisors and field personnel to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Develop and improve construction processes and workflows to increase efficiency and support best practices.
- Assist with bidding, contract administration, and project cost tracking. Required Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Functional construction project experience, preferably supporting commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Working knowledge of construction methods, building systems, project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.
- Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience supporting contract administration activities, including subcontract agreements, change orders, and project documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and project team members.
- Experience assisting with project schedules, procurement activities, and material delivery coordination.
- Familiarity with applicable building codes, permitting processes, and construction safety requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Procore is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
