Job Description
People's Self-Help Housing (PSHH) is looking to hire an experienced Night Manager to oversee a 27-unit property in Santa Barbara, CA for seniors (62+) and individuals living with disabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills, an interest in affordable housing management, and a passion for creating a supportive community for low-income families. With a mission to build affordable homes with site-based services that offer opportunities to change lives and strengthen communities, People's Self-Help Housing is the longest-serving nonprofit developer on California's Central Coast. We serve low-income working families, farm workers, seniors, and veterans and provide welcoming environments for those living with disabilities and for the formerly homeless. Along with building and managing beautiful and accessible neighborhoods in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties, we offer a broad array of programs to promote health, education, and connections to community-based resources. This is a part-time position (20 hours/week) Salary DOE, with a very competitive benefit package including: Paid Vacation, Holidays and Sick Time Employer investment in professional education and employee wellness An excellent supportive staff and work environment.
Responsibilities:
Be an on-site presence for tenants and visitors Be reasonably available for emergencies and to call appropriate contacts or 911 Be reasonable available for afterhours calls an lock-outs Monitor kitchen and dining room use, ensure safety of tenants, making sure it is cleaned-up Possible sorting and distribution of mail during the week per site manager Unlocking and locking main doors morning and evening Unlocking and locking kitchen/community room/ Laundry room doors morning and evenings Check all doors after locking in evening including SB rear bathroom (behind Dance Studio). SB office doors, SB basement gate, and VH bike storage Taking out trash and recycling as needed Leaving coffee ready or preparing coffee to be brewed for the following morning Possible assistance putting away breakfast items mornings, cleaning up anything left over from breakfast Monitoring cameras as needed Working with site manager to complete "incident reports" or "maintenance work orders" Assist site manager with distributing notices to residents Assist site manager with weekly grocery errands, updating shopping list, and helping with inventory control, stocking toilet paper and paper towels Assist site manager with weekly watering plants Walking the Hotel building, checking the bathrooms and other facilities Other duties assigned
Requirements:
General computer literacy Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with people of all cultures and economic status Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be required and is always highly preferred Ability to provide professional and courteous customer service Works collaboratively in a team environment Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines autonomously Proven ability and experience maintaining confidentiality with proprietary company information and personal client information. Valid CA driver's license, proof of auto insurance and access to a reliable vehicle. Light lifting (up to 20 pounds), walking, bending and squatting for short periods of time.
Starting Compensation Range:
