Job Description

Summary An established general contractor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support ground-up and occupied rehabilitation multifamily construction projects across California. This role works closely with the lead Superintendent to manage day-to-day field operations, coordinate subcontractors, and help drive projects from groundbreaking through closeout. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their field leadership career who wants hands-on mentorship, real responsibility, and long-term growth with a builder that has a strong and active multifamily pipeline. Key Responsibilities Support the Superintendent in overseeing daily field operations on multifamily construction projects Coordinate subcontractor activities, deliveries, inspections, and site logistics Monitor project schedules and communicate progress updates to the project team Assist with quality control walkthroughs and ensure work is completed per plans and specifications Help maintain jobsite safety compliance and OSHA standards Document daily field activity including reports, photos, and site logs Review drawings and flag RFIs, conflicts, or discrepancies to the Superintendent Support punchlist completion and project closeout activities Assist with subcontractor meetings and trade sequencing coordination Requirements 2 to 5 years of field construction experience within a GC environment Multifamily, affordable housing, or residential construction experience preferred Eagerness to grow into a lead Superintendent role over time Basic understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and site coordination Ability to work effectively under a lead Superintendent and take direction Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software a plus Strong communication, organization, and follow-through Compensation and Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Vehicle allowance or company vehicle package Paid holidays and PTO Mentorship and a clear path toward lead Superintendent responsibility
