This pivotal role involves ensuring the precise placement and elevation of earth materials, coordinating with survey teams, and maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in land surveying and civil engineering tools, and a passion for delivering quality results efficiently. As a Grade Checker Foreman, you will drive project success by supervising grading crews, verifying measurements, and ensuring all work aligns with project specifications and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Must abide by and enforce all company operations and safety policies Represent and uphold company core values at all times Project Management Manage high-complexity construction projects: Large-scale Long-term High-profile properties Deliver projects on or under budget Plan and execute work according to schedules and project requirements Oversee all phases of job execution from start to completion Plan Reading & Field Execution Read and interpret large-scale engineering and grading plans Ability to read and layout off of survey stakes Direct excavation and fill operations using heavy equipment Ensure proper grading, drainage, and site preparation Coordination & Communication Coordinate with: Engineers Inspectors Project managers Customers and stakeholders Communicate job progress, issues, and solutions clearly and professionally Provide accurate change order information when required Leadership & Crew Management Lead, manage, and develop field crews effectively Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow Identify and develop employees for advancement Resolve conflicts and maintain a productive work environment Safety & Compliance Enforce all safety policies and procedures Ensure all team members are properly trained and compliant Maintain a safe and organized job site at all times Performance Expectations Consistent delivery of projects on time and within budget High-quality workmanship and attention to detail Strong leadership and team development Effective communication and problem-solving Full compliance with safety and company standards Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in grading and construction operations Proven experience in land surveying, civil construction or grading supervision with a strong understanding of geospatial data collection techniques Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as GPS units, 3D scanners, total stations, and other measurement tools Ability to interpret construction drawings, schematics, and technical schematics accurately Strong math skills including algebra and geometry essential for precise measurements and calculations Experience in utility locating to identify underground infrastructure before grading activities commence Physical ability to perform heavy lifting as needed on-site while maintaining safety standards Join us as a Grade Checker Foreman to lead impactful projects that shape communities!
