ASES/ELO-P
program. This role provides leadership to staff, assists with site management, and directly supports student programming. During the summer program, this position operates primarily in ratio with Club members, leading activities, supporting academic enrichment, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment. The Assistant Site Director works hands-on with Club members while demonstrating leadership capacity and may take on increased responsibilities, including stepping into a lead role as needed. This position plays a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, while also supporting staff development and the program's overall quality. Must be available for both shifts Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Operations
Support overall site management, including program planning, implementation, and daily operations
Oversee program operations in the absence of the Site Director
Ensure compliance with
ASES/ELO-P
grant requirements, school district policies, and organizational standards
Manage daily setup, transitions, and program closure Student Supervision & Engagement (Primary Summer Focus)
Work directly in ratio with students, supervising groups of up to 20 students
Lead and facilitate enrichment activities, recreation, and team building
Support homework help and academic enrichment
Ensure smooth transitions between activities throughout the day
Foster a positive environment with a goal of 100% student participation
Serve as a positive role model and build strong relationships with students Program Implementation
Assist with preparing materials and supplies for daily activities
Collaborate with staff to plan and implement age-appropriate programming
Ensure program spaces are organized, safe, clean, and ready for use
Engage students in maintaining clean and organized environments Behavior & Safety
Apply positive behavior management strategies aligned with program expectations
Ensure student safety through consistent supervision and adherence to procedures
Respond calmly and effectively to incidents or unexpected situations
Communicate and report student or parent concerns to the Site Director Administration & ASES Compliance
Ensure full compliance with ASES attendance accounting requirements
Oversee accurate daily sign-in/sign-out procedures, including parent/guardian authorization
Maintain complete, audit-ready attendance records (rosters, sign-in/out sheets)
Utilize Cityspan and KidTrax to input, track, and reconcile attendance data daily
Ensure early release forms are properly completed and entered
Conduct internal audits to ensure alignment between paper records and digital systems
Submit attendance and program data within required timelines
Maintain organized records in accordance with ASES retention policies
Train and support staff on compliance procedures and documentation standards
Support meeting attendance targets and grant-funded enrollment requirements Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in an educational or structured setting
Experience working with elementary-aged students required
Prior ASES leadership experience required
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED required Education Requirement (must meet one):
48 college units completed, OR
Associate's degree (AA/AS) or higher, OR
Passing score on district Instructional Aide/Classroom Assistant proficiency exam Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong youth supervision and group management skills
Ability to support academic achievement and positive behavior
Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, active environment
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficiency in basic computer systems (Word, Excel, attendance platforms)

Fingerprinting and background clearance
Negative TB test within the past 60 days
CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire
