Role Description The Assistant Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Yuba City, CA, supporting day-to-day field operations for new home construction projects. This position assists the Superintendent with scheduling, coordinating subcontractors, overseeing site activities, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and according to plan specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities include monitoring job progress, conducting site walks, documenting issues, and helping resolve construction challenges in collaboration with project management. The Assistant Superintendent helps maintain a clean and organized jobsite, enforces safety protocols, and communicates with team members, inspectors, and vendors as needed. The role also involves reviewing plans and scopes of work, supporting inspections, and contributing to a positive, professional presence on the jobsite. Qualifications Experience in residential construction or related field, with foundational knowledge of homebuilding processes, materials, and trades. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and schedules, and to support accurate layout and field execution. Strong organizational and time-management skills to coordinate multiple tasks, track progress, and assist in meeting project deadlines. Commitment to jobsite safety, including understanding of basic safety practices, PPE requirements, and adherence to company policies. Effective communication and teamwork skills to work with superintendents, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal staff in a professional manner. Basic problem-solving abilities and attention to detail to identify issues in the field and help implement practical solutions. Comfort working on active construction sites, including the ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform physical tasks as required by the role. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from Yuba City, CA jobsites. Prior experience as a construction laborer, foreperson, or field assistant is preferred; experience with new home communities is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or coursework in construction management is beneficial.
