Job Title:
Estimating Supervisor Position Summary The Estimating Supervisor is responsible for leading and optimizing the lumber estimating function to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and competitive project proposals. This role oversees a team of estimators and manages the full lifecycle of the estimating process, while ensuring strong alignment with sales, purchasing, and operations. The ideal candidate will bring a disciplined, process-driven approach to leadership, with a focus on operational efficiency, quality standards, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Estimating Operations & Workflow Management Oversee the full estimating lifecycle, from bid receipt through final handoff to production Manage bid schedules and assign projects based on team workload, expertise, and project requirements Monitor performance to ensure timely and accurate completion of material take-offs and estimates Establish, communicate, and enforce standards for accuracy, quality, and turnaround times Maintain the integrity and accuracy of estimating systems, pricing databases, and material references Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and develop estimating team members to achieve individual and organizational objectives Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Conduct performance management activities, including goal setting, feedback, and development planning Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and customer satisfaction Serve as a key liaison between estimating, sales, operations, and leadership teams Communicate project status, priorities, and risks to stakeholders at all levels of the organization Provide guidance and support on complex, high-value, or strategic estimates Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 5+ years of estimating experience within construction, manufacturing, or a related industry Strong knowledge of blueprint interpretation, material take-offs, and estimating methodologies Proficiency with estimating software, including Bluebeam, Timberline, or similar platforms Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across functions Preferred Qualifications Prior leadership or supervisory experience Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and operational efficiencies Core Competencies Leadership and Talent Development Project and Workflow Management Attention to Detail and Accuracy Continuous Improvement Orientation Customer Focus Time Management and Prioritization Work Environment & Impact This position plays a critical role in supporting business growth and operational success by ensuring high-quality estimating practices and effective team leadership. The Estimating Supervisor contributes directly to the organization's ability to deliver competitive, accurate proposals while maintaining strong internal alignment and customer satisfaction.
Hourly Pay Range:
$31-41 per hour dependent on experience•pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living Bonus/Incentive Pay For hourly positions with incentive pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, and trip rate bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
