Job Description
Blackwood Associates is seeking a Construction Superintendent for a rapidly expanding and well-established construction firm based in Cheshire, CT . This firm has a strong reputation in the industry, a robust pipeline of work, and a longstanding, loyal team—many employees have been with the company for over 30 years. The company is actively growing , and looking to add to their expanding staff of Superintendents to support new and ongoing large-scale multifamily developments. Position Overview As the Construction Superintendent, you will oversee the daily operations of complex multifamily construction projects , including ground-up construction and high-end interior fit-outs . You'll be the on-site leader, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of each project. Key Responsibilities Manage on-site operations for large-scale multifamily projects (ground-up and fit-outs). Coordinate and supervise all field activities, trades, and subcontractor work. Maintain safety protocols and enforce OSHA compliance. Ensure all work meets project schedules and quality standards. Conduct site meetings, manage inspections, and resolve any job site challenges. Provide clear communication and progress updates to project managers. Maintain a clean, organized, and code-compliant site. Qualifications Several years of Superintendent experience in multifamily construction required. Proven track record overseeing large-scale projects from start to finish. Solid knowledge of construction means and methods, building codes, and safety practices. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills. Proficiency in construction management technology/tools.
