Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Project Manager with expertise in structural steel fabrication and erection . The ideal candidate will oversee projects from estimating and design coordination through fabrication, delivery, and installation. This role involves close coordination with clients, engineers, general contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion. The following list represents the primary activities and role responsibilities you will be performing as the sole Project Manager. This list is not intended to be a complete list, as on occasion you may be asked to perform additional functions to aid in creating a more effective and efficient operation: Process Contracts (save, review for scope and terms, sign if requested) to have a complete understanding of project requirements Process Request for Information (RFI), save, review, respond or forward to client/General Contractor (GC) for response, track, inform detailers and engineer for updates as needed Coordinate, create, track, and distribute submittals and approvals Coordinate, create, track, and process change orders Internal Job setup, conduct start up meetings with Shop Foreman, Field Foreman, Project Coordinator, and all other department heads who will be engaged in the project activities Conduct weekly production meetings with all department heads Problem solves as necessary to perform job functions Comply with all Corporate Policies and Procedures Review project scope, contract documents, specifications, and drawings Work with the Project Coordinator (PC) to ensure that the detailers understand all requirements and project components, and to schedule any required field verification Review all received shop drawings for accuracy to the Design drawings Coordinate with the General Contractor for all submittals, project revisions, shop schedules and field schedules Coordinate with the Shop Foreman for all fabrication schedules to ensure products are ordered, received, fabricated, and ultimately delivered to the site on time per the client schedules Request, receive, and review raw material, and pre-manufactured product ("buyout item") pricing and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in a timely manner to ensure there are no delays in manufacturing schedule. A company Credit Card will be issued in your name for the purpose of expedited purchases and required pre-payments to minimize schedule impacts Coordinate with Superb Steel's Field Supervisor to ensure all site schedules are met, all product is provided to field in a timely fashion, all equipment is available, all E - Drawings are provided, site conditions are conclusive of installing product in a timely and safe manner Coordinate with the GC to ensure the project site is ready for product installation per sequences and schedules previously agreed upon Ensure all Safety documentation is provided to the GC before installation of product Work with GCs to ensure all installation requirements are met prior to mobilizing field crew to the site (i.e. Pre-Erection meetings, worker orientation, waivers are signed, all shop drawings, product submittals, background checks, etc. are approved and accepted) Attend Project Management Meetings as required by GCs. Travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Federal guidelines if a company vehicle is not available Respond to emergency situations in a timely manner, including but not limited to filing reports for and resolving incidents and accidents, client concerns/legal actions, shop and field falters/failures, etc. Work with estimating to ensure accurate accountability of project scope Work with accounting to provide project statuses to complete monthly billing Request and delegate tasks to appropriate coworkers to more effectively and efficiently complete job tasks (ie. Request Schedule of Values from Estimating) Due to the exclusivity of your roles in the company operations, your position falls under the Exempt category for 40-hour labor laws. As such, there will be no specific start/end time to your workday/week. Business operations typically coincide with job-site work hours between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. To ensure that there is sufficient coverage for the work you are expected to perform you must be available and present not less than 9 HOURS (daily) between said business hours. Additionally, you will be expected to be available by phone, text, and email beyond the established business hours.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field (preferred)Experience:
3-7 years of project management experience in structural steel or related construction fieldTechnical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of steel fabrication, erection, welding standards, and construction documents Familiarity with AISC standards and OSHA safety regulationsSoftware Proficiency:
MS Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling toolsAutoCAD Blue Beam Procore Job Type:
