Full-Time, M-F Role Overview Able Tool and Equipment is seeking an experienced and motivated Service Manager to lead our growing service department. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys working in the construction equipment industry and wants to play a key role in the continued growth and success of our dealership. One of the unique benefits of this position is the opportunity to shadow and work closely with our existing Service Manager , who will remain with the company in an alternate position. This provides a valuable transition period where you will have the opportunity to learn about our systems, customers, equipment, processes, and team directly from an experienced lead before taking full ownership of the department. The Service Manager will work closely with our service, parts, rental and sales teams to ensure we provide exceptional customer service while maintaining efficient and profitable department operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee the service department's daily operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and technician assignments. Oversee and manage the parts department and parts manager. Manage, train, and mentor service technicians to ensure high standards of performance, safety, and quality. Coordinate preventive maintenance, warranty repairs, diagnostics, and complex equipment rebuilds across all major equipment types. Work closely with parts, rental, and sales teams to proactively address customer needs, parts availability, service/parts turnover and profitability maximization. Ensure all service orders, documentation, and customer communication are accurate, comprehensive, and completed on time. Maintain and optimize service workflows to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times. Monitor key service performance metrics (turnaround time, repair quality, service revenue, customer satisfaction) and report regularly to leadership. Uphold company safety, compliance, and quality standards in all service procedures. Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering responsive, knowledgeable support and technical guidance. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including training programs, process enhancements, and technician development. Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring parts, equipment, and incoming/outgoing shipments are handled accurately and efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience in service leadership within construction equipment, rental, heavy machinery, or related industrial environment. Strong technical understanding of equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repair best practices. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and manage competing priorities. Previous supervisory or management experience. Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and delivering superior customer service. Experience with service software/tools for work orders, parts management, and workflow tracking. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple jobs, customers, and department needs. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with construction tools and equipment is highly desirable. $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
