The position will be located in Windsor, CT. The ideal candidate shall have responsibility for developing construction estimates related to Earth work, Utility construction and site work. The Project Manager/Estimator will work closely with our Construction Management team and Operations to achieve the primary objective. Based on the organization's principles, the successful candidate will endeavor to create measurable and sustainable value for the company's overall Mission, Strategies, Objectives and Goals.
Responsibilities include:
Develop, review, and evaluate estimates, contracts and agreements affecting the project execution and functional area operations and make appropriate recommendations Reviewing all customer specifications, drawings and special requirements and incorporate into estimates Generating construction schedules to include scope of work, timing of work, task durations, manpower loadings, ect... Identifying tools and equipment required to perform a project Attending bid meetings and communication with customers as to clarifications in the bid documents Confer and collaborate with management staff to resolve problems and coordinate activities with the field Foreman Ensures field Foreman obtain all construction materials and material handling plans are established and properly managed Coordinate the construction schedules with the departments within the company
Safety:
Maintain safety awareness and ensure employees comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures to assure a safe working environment. Properly wear and care for applicable safety gear and equipment. Identify and communicate unsafe conditions to Construction Management, Project Foreman, Safety Officer, Field Employees and assure safety concerns and issues are resolved
Work Experience, Skills & Educations Required:
BS Degree or higher in an Engineering or Technology related field and/or 5+ years of experience in the Utility and site work construction Ability to effectively communicate with customers both verbally and written Ability to read mechanical and construction drawings and develop a scope of work Experience using Insite and MS office products Strong math skills Ability to plan, organize and multi-task while working on multiple estimates at the same time Construction filed experience in the earthwork, site work and utility construction Have or obtain OSHA 30 Hour Construction outreach training Physical Demands and/or
Unusual Work Conditions:
Ability to attend job-walks which can include climbing hills, stairs and ladders Working in extreme weather conditions BCI offer a safety-focused culture, competitive pay, benefits, Vacation and Holiday pay.
