The Christina Park Overnight Staff provides on-site oversight during overnight hours to help maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful environment within the encampment. This role focuses on site presence, safety monitoring, and rule enforcement, while treating all individuals with dignity and respect. Overnight staff conduct routine walkthroughs, respond to concerns, and communicate issues to Friendship House leadership as needed.Duties & Responsibilities:
Treat all individuals with dignity and respect. Remain on-site during assigned shifts. Conduct routine walkthroughs of the encampment to monitor safety and activity. Support a safe and orderly environment by fairly and consistently enforcing camp guidelines. Respond appropriately to safety concerns, conflicts, or crises using de-escalation when possible. Contact emergency services or law enforcement when necessary. Monitor shared spaces such as restroom areas and report any concerns. Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals staying at the site. Document incidents or concerns and report them to the designated Friendship House supervisor. Communicate relevant updates to incoming staff during shift transitions.Required Skills & Qualifications :
Ability to work overnight shifts. Strong observation and situational awareness. Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during challenging situations. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to walk the site regularly and work outdoors in varying conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed. Preferred Qualifications Experience in human services, outreach, or community-based work. Lived experience relevant to the population served. Training in trauma-informed care, de-escalation, or conflict resolution. CPR, First Aid, or Narcan training (or willingness to obtain).Job Types:
