Key Duties of a
Roofing, Windows and Solar Field Coordinator:
1. Project Planning & Coordination Coordinate daily activities on all job sites. Review project plans, specifications, and timelines with contractors and crews. Schedule and assign crews, equipment, and materials. Work closely with project managers and superintendents to ensure project milestones are met. 2. Site Inspections & Quality Control Inspect ongoing and completed roofing work to ensure it meets company and industry standards. Identify and resolve issues with installation, materials, or compliance on the job site. Conduct safety checks and enforce OSHA or local regulations to ensure crew safety. Document site progress through photos and reports. 3. Communication Act as the primary liaison between office staff, field crews, suppliers, and clients. Provide regular project updates to management and stakeholders. Address customer questions or concerns on-site. 4. Material Management Ensure roofing materials are delivered to the site on time and in correct quantities. Track material usage and avoid waste by monitoring inventory. 5. Safety Oversight Enforce proper safety practices and procedures. Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for field crews. Ensure all workers are wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 6. Problem Solving Quickly address unforeseen challenges, such as weather delays, labor shortages, or equipment failures. Provide solutions to ensure project continuity. 7. Administrative Tasks Prepare and submit daily logs, incident reports, and inspection records. Maintain communication records, timesheets, and crew schedules. Track project progress and budget adherence. 8. Training & Mentorship Train and mentor new or less experienced roofing crew members.
