ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER - REMODELING & RESTORATION

Wyman Builders and Restoration Xperts , located in Deerfield Beach, Florida, are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our Production Team. We are entering our 30th year in the remodeling and property restoration industry. We have built an excellent reputation throughout Broward and Palm Beach Counties and are proud of our long-term employees, low personnel turnover, and strong company culture. This position will be primarily focused on residential remodeling projects , including high-end renovations, but may also assist with property restoration projects as workload requires. Our Assistant Project Manager will work closely with our Project Manager, Superintendent, Sales/Estimating Team, subcontractors, vendors and customers to help deliver projects

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Assist the Project Manager with planning, scheduling and coordination of remodeling and restoration projects
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades and material suppliers
• Assist with project schedules, budgets and production targets
• Track material selections, purchasing, special-order and long-lead items
• Monitor project progress through regular jobsite visits
• Assist with permits, inspections, change orders and project documentation
• Maintain accurate project information using Buildertrend and other company software
• Communicate with customers, subcontractors, vendors and other members of the Production Team
• Identify potential scheduling, material or production problems before they delay a project
• Assist with punch lists, project completion and closeout
• Help ensure that projects meet company standards for quality, schedule, budget and customer satisfaction

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 3-7+ years of relevant construction experience with a General Contractor, remodeling contractor, restoration contractor, or similar construction company
• Prior experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Construction Manager, Superintendent, or similar position preferred
• Strong field knowledge of residential remodeling and construction, including structural repairs, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall, cabinetry, flooring and painting
• Experience with high-end finishes and residential remodeling
• Experience preparing and maintaining construction schedules
• Understanding of project budgets, costs and production targets
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and trades
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn industry-specific software
• Buildertrend experience strongly preferred
• Xactimate and property restoration experience are a plus
• Industry certifications are a plus
• Excellent communication, organizational and relationship-building skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Goal-oriented, accountable and comfortable working in a team environment
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass required drug screening and background check

ABOUT THE POSITION

This is not a remote position . The Assistant Project Manager will work from our centrally located Deerfield Beach office and visit active projects throughout our normal service area in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The position involves both office and field responsibilities. Our project management team uses computer and mobile technology extensively for scheduling, project updates, photographs, documentation, communication and production reporting. Documentation and accountability are important parts of how we manage every project. Most of our projects range from approximately $25,000 to $100,000 , with larger remodeling projects reaching $500,000 or more . We are looking for someone who wants more than simply another construction job.
