About Us Built To Last Construction is a construction company focused on high-quality custom homes, renovations, commercial work, and client-focused project delivery. We are building a stronger, more organized construction team and are looking for a Construction Manager who can help manage projects in the field, coordinate subcontractors, communicate clearly, and keep jobs moving forward. This is an in-person position serving projects in the Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, and Greater Jacksonville area. Local candidates are strongly preferred. Position Overview The Construction Manager will support and manage day-to-day field operations on construction projects. Depending on experience, this position may begin as a developing Construction Manager role or an intermediate Construction Manager role with more independent project responsibility. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, communicates well, understands residential construction, and is comfortable working with subcontractors, clients, vendors, designers, and internal team members. Responsibilities Manage and support daily field operations on assigned residential construction projects Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and project schedules Conduct routine site walks to review progress, quality, safety, and jobsite cleanliness Maintain daily logs, project photos, schedule updates, and field notes in Buildertrend Communicate project updates clearly with clients and internal team members Help manage project schedules and short-term lookaheads Review plans, scopes, selections, and project documents Identify field issues, scope gaps, RFIs, change order needs, and schedule conflicts Track project progress and help protect budgets, cost codes, and job cost accuracy Verify materials and deliveries against approved scopes or purchase orders Hold subcontractors accountable to quality, schedule, cleanliness, and company standards Assist with punch lists, closeout items, and client walkthroughs Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, trade partners, clients, architects, and the internal team Qualifications 1-7 years of construction experience preferred Experience as a Construction Manager, Assistant Construction Manager, Superintendent, Field Supervisor, Lead Carpenter, or similar role preferred Strong understanding of construction sequencing, including framing, MEP rough-ins, finishes, and closeout Ability to read and understand construction plans, scopes, schedules, and specifications Comfortable using or learning Buildertrend and Google Workspace Strong written and verbal communication skills Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities Able to work in person on active jobsites Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Preferred but Not Required Experience managing custom residential and commercial projects Buildertrend experience OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Degree or coursework in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or related field Experience managing budgets, cost codes, RFIs, change orders, and client communication Compensation Salary range is $70,000 - $110,000 per year , based on experience and ability. Entry-level to developing Construction Manager candidates will typically fall toward the lower end of the range. More experienced candidates who can independently manage multiple projects, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and client communication may qualify toward the higher end of the range. Schedule Full-time In-person Monday through Friday, with occasional project needs outside normal hours Projects primarily located in Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, and the Greater Jacksonville area What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and become a strong, independent Construction Manager. $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
