Full-time Overview:
As a Senior Project Manager at Bergolla, a respected interior contractor specializing in commercial and residential projects, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multiple drywall installation projects from initiation to completion. You will lead project teams, collaborate with clients, subcontractors, general contractors, and vendors, and ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will be a key leader within a mid-sized team, requiring strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage resources effectively, build client relationships, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Management:
Oversee all phases of drywall construction projects, from pre-construction planning through project closeout. Manage project budgets, schedules, and ensure resource allocation to meet deadlines. Develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with clients' goals and expectations. Direct and mentor project teams, including project coordinators, field supervisors, and subcontractors. Review and approve project documentation, including RFIs, labor costs, vender invoices, change orders, submittals, and progress reports.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and general contractors. Establish and maintain positive relationships with all project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and coordination. Provide regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns or potential issues proactively.
Budget & Cost Control:
Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring proper allocation of resources and staying within financial constraints. Oversee cost tracking and implement cost-saving measures where applicable without compromising quality or safety. Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices in alignment with contractual agreements.
Team & Resource Management:
Coordinate with internal teams (estimating, procurement, field crews) to ensure resources are allocated efficiently. Oversee field operations, working with crew leaders to ensure safety, quality, and productivity on-site. Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
Quality Control & Safety:
Enforce quality control standards throughout the lifecycle of each project, ensuring compliance with building codes, specifications, and industry standards. Ensure safety regulations are strictly adhered to, conducting regular safety inspections and addressing any violations promptly. Identify and resolve potential safety or quality concerns on the job site, taking corrective actions as necessary.
Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
Identify risks early in the project lifecycle and develop mitigation strategies. Resolve project-related issues promptly, including delays, disputes, and design changes. Manage project changes, ensuring that they are documented, approved, and executed properly.
Contract Management:
Review and manage contracts, ensuring scope of work is clearly defined and deliverables are met. Negotiate contracts, change orders, and claims with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and present comprehensive project reports for senior leadership, including financial performance, progress updates, and risk assessments. Ensure that all project documentation is accurately maintained and archived for future reference and compliance.
Qualifications:
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience:
With or leadership role, preferably within a subcontractor environment.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Certifications:
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification a plus. OSHA 30-hour or other relevant safety certifications are a plus. Strong knowledge of drywall systems, materials, installation methods, and industry standards. Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, ScheduleIt, MS Project). Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar projects from conception to completion. Strong financial acumen and experience managing project budgets, contracts, and change orders.
