Construction Superintendent Location:
Florida Position Overview Our Client is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to serve as the primary field leader responsible for driving daily production, quality, safety, and schedule performance on commercial construction projects. This is a hands-on field leadership role requiring strong technical construction knowledge and the ability to lead crews directly on-site. The ideal candidate will have an established background in commercial construction with significant experience overseeing structural construction activities including concrete, formwork, rebar, layout, and masonry. This individual must be comfortable leading from the field rather than the job trailer and possess the technical expertise needed to earn the confidence of subcontractors and field crews. Key Responsibilities Field Leadership Lead daily field operations from project mobilization through completion. Drive daily production while maintaining project schedules and quality standards. Provide hands-on leadership to field crews and subcontractors. Resolve field issues quickly to maintain productivity. Structural Construction Oversight Manage structural construction activities including concrete, formwork, reinforcing steel, layout, and masonry operations. Coordinate inspections and verify structural work complies with project requirements. Ensure proper sequencing of structural work with other trades. Construction Documents Interpret and manage construction drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals. Verify field work complies with approved plans and project documentation. Coordinate RFIs and resolve drawing discrepancies with the project team. Crew & Subcontractor Management Direct subcontractors and field personnel. Conduct daily planning meetings and coordinate work activities. Monitor productivity and maintain accountability across all trades. Quality Control Perform ongoing field inspections. Ensure workmanship meets project specifications and company quality standards. Address deficiencies promptly and coordinate corrective actions. Safety Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular safety meetings and jobsite inspections. Promote a safe and productive work environment. Scheduling & Coordination Coordinate daily work activities with Project Managers and subcontractors. Monitor project milestones and proactively address schedule impacts. Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment requirements. Documentation Maintain daily reports, field logs, progress updates, and inspection records. Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project closeout documentation. Required Qualifications Proven experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent. Strong background managing structural construction scopes . Experience with concrete, formwork, rebar, layout, and masonry . Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings . Strong leadership skills with experience directing field crews and subcontractors. Excellent understanding of OSHA safety regulations and jobsite best practices. Ability to drive production while maintaining quality and schedule. Preferred Qualifications Commercial ground-up construction experience. Experience leading structural concrete and masonry projects. Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software. OSHA Certification. First Aid/CPR Certification.
